Chicks cannot do without heat for the first 6 to 7 weeks, and a heating mat is the ideal solution for this.

You can also use these heating mats for other animal species. Think of poultry, reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. The mat needs some time to heat up properly. Turn the mat on for 30 to 45 minutes before use so that the maximum temperature is reached. The mat may feel a bit cooler to the touch than you would like, but as soon as your animal sits or lies on the mat, all the heat goes to your pet. You can easily test this yourself by placing a rug over the mat and feeling how much heat it collects.
