This thread repair kit includes thread inserts, drill bits, taps, insert installation tools, and lug removal tools for a smooth repair experience. It comes with 25 M8 x 1.25 mm thread inserts, ideal for repairing damaged threads, stripped internal threads, and creating stronger internal threads in soft metals. Drilling: Clean the damaged threads with a standard drill bit. (If using a dedicated spark plug tap to repair spark plug threads, pre-drilling is not required.) Note that for taps without thread grooves, a larger hole is required. Installing the Insert: Place the insert on the installation tool and adjust the adjusting ring so that the insert rod is centered in the tool groove. Gently press down to tighten the insert to less than half a turn below the surface. Never work in the direction of the thread, or the insert rod may break.
